[edit]Special Education Advocacy
[edit]Mpoy is a distinguished special education teacher with the District of Columbia Public Schools, where he has dedicated more than 15 years to advocating for the legal protection of students with disabilities. His expertise in special education is evident through his commitment to ensuring equitable access to the general education curriculum for all students. His role involves modifying curricula to meet individual needs and collaborating with general education teachers to provide seamless inclusion support. His desire to promote an inclusive environment aligns with his advocacy for the legal protections of students with disabilities under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, ensuring that students receive the specialized educational services and accommodations they need to succeed.
As a licensed special education teacher, Mpoy attributes his success to his unwavering dedication to his students. He believes that while subject matter expertise is important, true effectiveness lies in fostering students' willingness to learn. His genuine love for children and recognition of their unique learning potentials drive his teaching philosophy. By creating supportive environments where students feel appreciated and understood, he empowers them to engage in their education and reach their full potential.
