The pictures should be removed
[edit]These pictures seem to be added out of vanity, and surely do not meet notability criteria.
These seem to enhance the article and certainly appear to be realistic, typical, and appropriate. Perhaps the dresses are a few years out of date, but the pictures are in the spirit of the article and anyway I didn't really notice anything wrong with them until I read this Talk.

US-centric risk
[edit]Whilst a Prom is a significant part of US teenage culture, outside of the US it usually refers to a concert (or to attending such a concert, 'Promming') from the largest annual series of classical music concerts in the world: The BBC Proms. They were instigated in 1895 and broadcast by the BBC since 1927, running for 8 weeks every summer.

- We already have a page for the BBC Proms. I don't see the issue here? Besides, this page includes a lot of information from countries other than the U.S. Nerd271 (talk) 14:13, 4 May 2025 (UTC)
- The issue is that outside the US 'Prom' has a different primary meaning. Nonetheless it is the US meaning that takes precedence on Wikipedia giving the impression of a US bias. I don't believe that such bias is the policy of Wikipedia.
- A resolution world be to rename the article, 'promenade dance', as used in the opening sentence. 'Prom' could then be a disambiguation page, remaining neutral. 86.135.86.130 (talk) 02:02, 5 May 2025 (UTC)
- Or, 'High School Prom' might be a better, more specific / unambiguous article name. 86.135.86.130 (talk) 02:05, 5 May 2025 (UTC)
